Eleven Keys To Having A Sweet Life

Eleven Keys To Having A Sweet Life

I’ve watched many many speakers talk about health and wellness, but this one, in particular, grabbed my attention. she was who she is, with no additives, no pretending, just the real deal. She cursed, she laughed, she inspired and she gave it her all!

She’s a Gynocologist who believes in the power of simplicity, in the magic of connecting to our mother earth, and in the divinity of going back to the simple ways of life.

Here are her eleven keys to having a sweet life:

1- Laughter & Sense of Humor

You know that feeling when you laugh out loud, the surge of happiness that rushes right through you. This is the release of endorphins (happy hormone) in your body. Laughter doesn’t only help us be happier but it helps us be healthier too. It boosts our immunity, relaxes our muscles and prevents heart disease. It also adds zest and joy to our life, releases anxiety and decreases stress levels.

2- Sunshine & Natural Light

I just love the feeling of sunlight kissing my skin, it feels warm and fuzzy! Being under the sun helps your body produce serotonin (wellbeing hormone), increases our vitality and energy levels and elevates our mood. It also helps reduce blood pressure, promotes bone growth and reduces inflammation.

3- Nutritious Food

Eating healthy is an act of self-love, it promotes a good self-image and ensures the feeling of wellbeing. It also helps boost our digestive process and works magic for our gut health.

To eat clean, add more whole foods to your diet, try to eliminate refined carbs and sugars and minimize processed and packaged foods.

4- Clean Air

We tend to spend the majority of our time indoors, in stuffy offices, in our cars or just laying around the house. Exposure to fresh air brings freshness back into our lives, it boosts mood levels and helps relieve insomnia, anxiety, and stress. Take 10 minutes every hour or two to just be outside and smell the roses.

5- Water

There is a relationship between our brain and how it responds to water. Just by observing water we become more connected to nature, it helps to soothe our mind and tap into our inner flow. Up to 60% of the adult human body is water, that is why consuming two to three litres of water a day is crucial for our physical and mental health. It helps keep the skin radiant, control weight and energizes the muscles.

6- Uplifting Relationships

Strong positive relationships help boost our happy meter and reboot our health. Scientists after investigating the health effects of relationships discovered that having deep connections improves our immunity and gut function. They also discovered that caring behavior triggers the release of stress-reducing hormones, and encourages the expression of affection.

7- Outdoor Exercise

Working out outside is so much more fun! I mean come on… Yoga on the beach, or a run in the park, it doesn’t get any better than that. On top of all the fun, exercising outdoors will give you a burst of Vitamin D, help you workout longer and burn more calories and will elevate your sense of wellbeing.

8- Satisfying Living & Working Environment

Fung Shui is a Chinese concept which claims to use energy forces to harmonize individuals with their surrounding environment.

The color of the walls, the pattern of the furniture, the smell of the air will all affect our mood. Sometimes you will go somewhere and just feel a sense of ease, you wouldn’t normally know why, but most probably it’s the environment.

Think of your environment as an extension of who you are, as yourself what are my values and how do I like to live and then check if your environment matches that vision.

9- Natural Sleep & Relaxation

Did you know that lack of sleep makes us more prone to having depression? It is also linked to weight gain, increased risk of stroke and increased risk of having diabetes.

Sleeping or relaxing helps our emotional processes stay in check, we will drive better, interact with people better and simply live a more vibrant life.

10- Inspiring Music

Music is soothing for our soul, it’s the kind of rhythm that unites itself with every cell in our body, it’s like we become one with music. On top of that, music was scientifically proven to enhance our nervous system, alleviate pain and depression and help us better process our emotions.

11- Rythmecial Dance

Experiments have proven cognitive benefits from dancing, two groups of people were asked to listen to music, one while sitting down and the second one while dancing and roaming around the room. The group which was asked to dance showed enhanced problem-solving skills and elevated mood levels.

Dancing makes us feel alive, it connects us back to our primitive instincts as humans, by exploring our body movement and letting our inner energy flow.

“Happiness is a choice, a repetitive one.”

8 Beautiful Ways To Practice Self-Love

8 Beautiful Ways To Practice Self-Love

Today is about self-love

Self- love is what pulls you up in the days when your body feels like cracking down and your mind just wants to give up. Self-love is food to the soul, it just brings us back to the basics of what truly matters.

Oprah Winfrey said:

Always keep your cup full until your cup runneth over.

By giving ourselves what we need, we will be able to then share with the world around us. Self-love is an act of giving that will change your life.

If you don’t know where to start here is a couple of techniques that can help put you on the right path.

1) Have a love ritual

Give yourself 15 to 20 Minutes a day of sitting with yourself doing something you love. Cook a hearty meal, slip into a bubble bath or play your favorite song. Whatever you choose to do, make sure it’s something that puts you in a state of joy and ease.

2) Know your values

Who are you? and what are your life principles? Is it simplicity, love, joy, health, success or honesty? Clearly identify each and every principle you hold dearly to your heart.

And now, the most important question comes to play- Do you actually live by those values? if the answer is no, then it’s time to start moving closer to your truth.

3) Express yourself fully

We are born a white canvas, with a world of freedom to draw whatever we like on that canvas. To express our true colors, and draw fearlessly without holding back. The way we talk, the way we walk, the music we listen to, what we eat and the way we dress are only some examples of how we can express ourselves in the material world.

By expressing ourselves we are only confirming the feeling of self-love, of self-pride and self-growth.

4) Explore your spirituality

Remember, we are spiritual beings living in a physical world. Add practices to your routine that help you connect to your heart such as meditation, love affirmations, prayer, and faith will help us reconnect with the soul of our being. To the core of who we are, a particle of this beautiful universe, a miracle among many others.

5) Set boundaries

It’s okay to say no, it’s okay to protect your peace of mind, it’s okay to care for your health and it’s okay to grow and change in the direction that brings you happiness. Not everyone understands your priorities or believes in your values, that is your job!

Your job is to respect your needs and answer to your priorities, your job is to love yourself enough to say no.

6) Grow gratitude

Say thank you. Thank you for being you, thank you for the effort you are putting, and thank you for the love you have right there within you. Thank you for the universe, for your health, and for your journey.

Being grateful is just a reminder of what is going right in our life, it’s a conscious choice to give attention to what is beautiful and what is thriving.

7) Stop Comparing

That is by far the worst thing you can do to yourself. You are unique, and so is your life journey. Shift the focus to what is happening with you right now, to what your goals are in the future and to the beauty of the present moment.

You are you and by trying to have someone else’s life, you are only fighting the natural flow of the universe trying to express itself through you.

8) Be mindful

Now is all you have! being mindful makes that salad you’re having so much more yummy makes that hug so much warmer and makes the sun kissing your skin so much more soothing.

By being mindful we are experiencing life to it’s fullest. Nothing will be ordinary ever again!

These tools are not a one time trick, they are a continuous practice that will with time turn into a habit, which will turn into your life. And then, my friend, you will experience what I call the self-love high.

Why I Cooked Dinner For My Friends…

Why I Cooked Dinner For My Friends…

So I get a lot of questions about what I’m studying now, and it’s called Integrative Nutrition. People hear the work nutrition and instantly think it’s all about food. Well, it’s it!

Well as much as it discusses bio-individuality and how one person’s food is another person’s poison, it also discusses something that is far more important and that is Primary Food. It’s the level of joy and happiness you have in all other areas of your life. Including career, relationships, spirituality and physical activity.

It’s about exploring new things with myself and letting go of old obsolete beliefs that are no longer serving me and then start helping people do the same.

Something new that I explored is inviting people over on a full healthy meal course. I did ginger and carrot soup, massaged kale salad and my own take on lean gluten-free spaghetti meatballs.

I invited my friends over and enjoyed my time eating and watching them enjoy the food.

What I learned from this experience is that I really do love cooking for others and having people over. It taught me that the joy of sharing can never be matched. And that healthy food can actually be done in friends gatherings.

It’s never too late to learn something new about yourself or learn something new in general. I talk about learning all the time because I do believe that through learning we rediscover our selves and open our hearts up to living our full potential.

Humanity is genius, but it simply went stray and got buried under levels of stress and anxiety that is coming from stepping away from our authentic selves and living life like a rat in a rat race.

So take a minute and ask yourself what you want, what new skills you would love to learn and what you want to grow in yourself. Say yes to new opportunities and always give your self time to share. Share your thoughts and your dreams with your loved ones. Read them your latest article, or ask them to come work out with you.

Be open to give and receive and most importantly is always be open and willing to learn.

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

Why I Decided To Study With The ‘IIN’?

Why I Decided To Study With The ‘IIN’?

IIN- is the Institution for Integrative Nutrition. And this is the story of how this course came into my life…

I was having a normal day, giving myself my regular weekly ‘me time’ at the salon, when my friend introduced me to her friend. An amazingly interesting girl who, funny enough, was also obsessed with self-development, and healthy living, you know the whole shebang. Just like my good self!

So, long story short, we go into this deep conversation, the kind you lose time in. exchanging ideas about health and our misconception of what health and self-discovery are all about. When she mentions the ‘IIN’.

I ask intriguingly, being the curious me that I always am; what is IIN? and what do they teach? She goes on and on and on about how life-changing it is, and how it makes you break out of the norm and look at your whole life in a completely fresh holistic way. and how it makes you question some of the major beliefs you have about what life is all about, and how our health is affected by everything we choose to do or eat in our life.

Now, just for your information, during that whole week, I was repeatedly asking my self what should the next step in my learning process be. and for this to come right ‘to me’ was kind of freaky.

So, I become obsessed with the idea of the ‘IIN’. I start doing my research until I decide to take a leap of faith and start this one year program and begin a journey to become certified health coach myself.

It’s still week two! but what I can say, is that I cannot be more thankful for meeting, who I call my friend now, on that day in front of the nail station in the salon. Because these two weeks have been nothing less than amazing. I am starting to learn a lot about my own health, and where I stand currently in my own life.

All I want to say here is that I asked the universe a question, and it answered! I have faith in what the universe brings my way and I am always on the lookout for something new. A new adventure that can add to my life and help me move closer to my dream of building a career for myself in the wellness industry.

So, I would like to ask you to have faith in your dreams and faith in your goals. I want you to ask the universe for what you want with a pure intention and have faith that what you ask for will find you. the universe has a lovely way of surprising us with the best gifts, but that is only if we have an open heart to receive.

And now, here I am on this journey back to being a student learning like I have never learned before. And, that is only because I asked!

“However, what I have come to understand from my life’s journey is that I am always in the right place at the right time. In fact, there is no other place I could possibly be.”

The Drug All Humans Are Becoming Addicted To

The Drug All Humans Are Becoming Addicted To

I love these small simple moments when I let go of “what should be” and just embrace the “what is”. I love the now because that is when things are the most perfect, it’s when I feel the most connected to my soul, to my- self. The now is where I start to build the future that I want, the now is my chance to be me, the full version of me without an inch of compromise.

I love simple things because life in its original form is simple, the universe is simple, and all of the rules of living are simple.

I’m going to say something, and it might sound a bit crazy, but human beings are also simple; our basic needs are simple. We need love, we need connection, we need understanding, and we need support. That is why humans used to always live in tribes, because that is where their most basic needs were fulfilled. They focused on their now and lived life one moment at a time, they provided each other with everything they needed, and lived as one soul seeking one salvation.

But the now we live in changed, people strayed from their basic needs to follow the illusion of desire. The desire to achieve more, do more, have a bigger house, more cars, more money, travel to more countries. More is our mantra now, and it’s what we get high on.

The illusion of desire dismantles the power of inner fulfillment, of being proud and content of what and who we are now.

A bright future is always sought after, I can’t deny that. However, running after this future without taking a moment to slow down and appreciate the present moment defies the purpose of being alive.

Living is actually being there in each moment you live, paying attention to each conversation you have, listening to that joke, and laughing at the top of your lungs. Living is having ambition but remembering the joy of the simple things in life- a kiss from a loved one or a moment of meditation on your yoga matt.

Life is simply living and living is now.

-The only time we suffer is when we believe a thought that argues with what is. When the mind is perfectly clear. “what is” is “what we want” –

What Came To Me During Meditation

What Came To Me During Meditation

Three Words Kept coming to me, like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, bright as the sun. If I Learnt one thing, it’s give respect to the voice of your inner wisdom.

Love – is Surrender

Love is letting go, letting go of the past, letting go of the neediness, letting go of the jealousy and most importantly, letting go of the ego.

Love is swimming with the flow of life and not against it, love is having complete trust in what will be and what will become.

Freedom – is Courage

Freedom is the courage to break through all conditioning, it’s the courage to choose who you want to be instead of having it passed down to you. It’s the courage to decide what you stand for and what you want to represent.

Freedom is the ultimate boldness to be and express your creative self.

Life – is Success

Life is the prosperity you choose to receive and give in all areas of your life. It is the prosperity you create in your relationships, your health, your spirituality and your growth.

Life is living and having abundance through each and every step you take.

So, choose to love passionately, be free from all limitations and live life fully, and I emphasize the word choose, because everything around you is the fruit of your own choice.

Peace & Love,
