Yes, the title means exactly what you thought, there are so many versions of me in one body. But, don’t worry, I’m not mentally disturbed. I just woke up to a beautiful truth, one that gives me a sense of empowerment like I never felt before.
While I was driving back from work, I saw a total stranger walk on the side of the road, like I always do I watched him. Oh yes, I love to watch people, how they talk, how they walk, their tone of voice, their facial expressions, anything that can help me understand them more.
Well, this stranger was a middle-aged man that is a bit overweight, walking slowly, slouched and looking at the floor, lacking any interest in the world around him. And for a strange reason, I imagined another version of this man, a fit, energetic version, walking with his head held high.
Holy shit I thought to myself! I, like all people, have so many different versions of myself!
What we’re given as a godly gift is a skeleton, on which we build a body of our own design as well as the engine to operate that body.
Physical and mental fitness is not something we choose to do as a lifestyle, it’s something we choose to do as a demonstration of who we are, and the message we want to carry into this world.
Think about it this way, what do the choices you make for your own body and your own mind say about who you are as a person? Do they reflect the values you hold dearly to your heart? or are these choices standing in the way of your own growth?
Coming to this realization, during an ordinary drive home, made me understand the true meaning of inner power; the power to mold and shape ourselves to reflect our true inner selves, to match what we believe in and what we stand for.
Be the ambassador of your own cause.
“The power to shape your reality lies within you, therefore the most important voice you will ever hear is your own.”
