We walk through life carrying with us the obsession to be right! Whether it was in a conversation with our spouse, a meeting at work, or a casual talk over coffee with a friend.
Deep, deep down inside we all just want to make a point.
But what does making a point really mean?
Making a point is when you go on and on and on until the person in front of you agrees with you! And you don’t leave happy unless you did make your point!
The obsession with being right reflects on each and every aspect of our life, in order to be right, people have to agree and accept everything we say or do- therefore, we end up doing things not out of love but out of need for approval.
We might twist our words or do actions that do not necessarily match our inner values, just to get approvals and blessings from the outside wrold.
If you’re waiting for assurance from the outside, you might spend your entire life and yet never feel truly fulfilled. Why? because nothing provides a feeling of complete peace, freedom and joy unless it comes from the inside and spreads itself all the way out.
To be happy is to be yourself and to be yourself is to be free, so live a life of freedom and let your inner love radiate to your outside world.
“Being kind to someone, only to look kind to others, defeats the purpose of being kind.”
